OUR CHAPTER
Our Mission
The mission of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), Southeastern Virginia Alumni (SEVA) Chapter is to facilitate the implementation of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore National Alumni Association’s (NAA) Constitution, to assist in the recruitment of new students, provide support to enrolled UMES students at all levels, programs, and endowments of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Southeastern Virginia
The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), Southeastern Virginia Alumni Chapter (SEVA) includes alumni in the Tidewater Virginia area (Newport News, Hampton, Norfolk, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach), Yorktown, Williamsburg, Richmond, and surrounding North Carolina cities such as Elizabeth City, Hertford, Ahoskie, Rich Square, Murfreesboro, etc. SEVA seeks to engage alumni by sponsoring programs and events that promote the growth of UMES and keep alumni informed and connected. SEVA seeks to support other chapters’ events that promote the growth of UMES.

There continues to be an effort to bridge the gap between past, present and future students and to develop an organization that promotes and represents the diversity of the UMES alumni body.
SEVA’s membership is growing. There are twelve Lifetime members, five regular members, two associate, and two honorary members. See the attached SEVA Roster.
